Shipping Policy

Effective Date: April 15, 2026 · Scope: B2B Manufacturing Orders — Domestic & International

1. Overview

Masdr is a digital intermediary marketplace and does not manufacture, warehouse, ship, or physically handle any goods. All shipping and logistics obligations rest exclusively with the Supplier (manufacturer) under the terms agreed with the Buyer through the Platform.

This Shipping Policy outlines how shipping terms are established and managed on the Platform, and the responsibilities of each party.

2. Shipping Terms (Incoterms)

Shipping arrangements for every order must be agreed upon and documented by the Supplier and Buyer through the Platform’s Live Chat before production commences. Parties must agree on applicable Incoterms, including but not limited to:

  • EXW (Ex Works): Buyer collects goods from the Supplier’s factory; all logistics, export clearance, and risk from that point are the Buyer’s responsibility
  • FOB (Free On Board): Supplier delivers goods to the named port of shipment; risk transfers to the Buyer at that point
  • Other Incoterms 2020 terms as mutually agreed in writing through the Platform

Once Incoterms are agreed and confirmed through Live Chat, they form part of the legally binding order record under Egyptian Law No. 15 of 2004.

3. Supplier Shipping Obligations

Suppliers are solely responsible for:

  • Packaging goods appropriately to prevent damage in transit
  • Preparing accurate shipping documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and any required compliance certificates)
  • Meeting the delivery timeline confirmed through the Platform Live Chat
  • Obtaining any required export licenses or permits
  • Ensuring goods comply with the importing country’s regulations and standards
  • Providing the Buyer with shipment tracking information through the Platform

4. Estimated Lead Times

Lead times are determined on an order-by-order basis and must be agreed in the Platform Live Chat. General industry guidance for Egyptian manufacturers:

  • Textiles & Apparel: 30–60 days from order confirmation, depending on complexity and quantity
  • Plastics: 20–45 days from order confirmation
  • Cosmetics: 30–60 days from order confirmation (subject to ingredient sourcing)
  • Fabric: 15–30 days from order confirmation

These are indicative ranges only. Confirmed timelines in the Platform Live Chat take precedence. Masdr makes no guarantees regarding Supplier delivery timelines.

5. Risk of Loss & Insurance

Risk of loss, damage, or deterioration of goods transfers between parties in accordance with the agreed Incoterm. Masdr bears no risk, liability, or responsibility for goods at any stage of manufacturing, packaging, transit, or delivery.

Buyers are strongly advised to secure cargo insurance for international shipments. Suppliers are responsible for ensuring goods are properly insured up to the point of risk transfer under the agreed Incoterm.

6. Customs, Duties & Import Compliance

For international orders, the Buyer is responsible for all import duties, customs clearance fees, taxes, and compliance with the importing country’s regulations, unless otherwise agreed in writing through the Platform.

Suppliers are responsible for accurate export documentation. Masdr accepts no liability for delays or penalties arising from inaccurate or incomplete shipping documentation provided by the Supplier.

7. Delivery Confirmation & Inspection

Buyers must confirm delivery through the Platform. Upon confirmed delivery, the 48-hour inspection window (as described in the Refund Policy) begins. Failure to inspect within this window and report issues through the Platform Live Chat may limit the Buyer’s recourse.

8. Shipping Delays

Suppliers must notify Buyers through the Platform immediately upon becoming aware of any shipping delay. Masdr must also be notified at adham@factorymena.com.

Force majeure events (including natural disasters, port closures, civil unrest, or government restrictions) may excuse delay obligations if properly documented and communicated within 15 calendar days of the event.

Repeated or unexplained shipping delays by a Supplier may result in account review, suspension, or termination under the MSA termination provisions.

9. Masdr’s Role in Shipping

Masdr does not:

  • Arrange, book, or coordinate logistics or freight forwarding
  • Insure or guarantee delivery of any goods
  • Take responsibility for customs clearance or import compliance
  • Bear liability for loss, damage, delay, or non-delivery of goods

Masdr’s role is limited to: (a) maintaining a record of agreed shipping terms through the Platform Live Chat, (b) facilitating communication between Suppliers and Buyers in the event of shipping disputes, and (c) providing platform records to judicial or regulatory authorities as required.

10. Contact for Shipping Issues
